Have another Bite of matzot, eschew the Prideful leavening, cleave To the simple. But when the holiday is passed And I eat that first bit of bread, Soft against my palate, Tasty, enchanting, a hint Of leisure and luxury, border- Line tipsy, I’ll lean not too heavily On the staff, But I’ll savor the First mouthful.
