Clean, rush, inspect, check
The list, edit the list, 
Reinspect, shop, rush:
Who’s coming? What text?
How many guests?
When do we start?

Can I think?  How do I
Prepare?  The day is when,
Again?  Do we have the stuff?
Need I shop?  Is the wine
Sufficient? Or more? The
Matzot? Tasty? Dry? 

Thick or thin, like the love
I have for this guest or that?
For Jew or not?  Will 
Politics get in the way,
As before?  Or can I
This time ignore?

Okay. Okay.  A moment,
A moment before we tell
And retell, expound, expand,
Explain, sing, and if we take 
That moment, take that breathe,
Just right, with proper care,

Let me go back to that moment
And relive that wonder as I
Walk between those watery
Walls, on my way, with
That whole crew, and Miriam 
And Aharon too, 
On my way, on my way
To that mountain.
Praises upon praises, 
Showered with steadfast
And undeserved love.
